DIY: How To Make Paper Rosettes (Free Print Out!)

on Thursday, August 1, 2013

You know what? You totally deserve a medal! That's why we've decided to show you how to make paper rosettes and have even included a free little print out so you can make one for every lovely person you know!

These are great for so many things; cupcake toppers, gift wrapping, an alternative to a birthday card... I think I could go on forever here, I'm just loving them that much right now!

We've created a little template for our free printable that contains 6 rosette medals for you to cut out and keep :) I think we have everything covered here - "Hello", "Lovely", "Superstar", Happy Birthday", "Handsome" and "Winner". All you need to do is save it to your desk top and print it out at 100% on a sheet of A4 card.

(I've been having troubles getting this online today, so I've uploaded it via another site. Any problems with this let me know :D )

To make hand-sized rosettes like mine, you'll need:
7.5 x 15cm rectangles of paper (origami paper, magazines, newspaper, brown parcel wrap all look fab!)
Our rosette medals (or your own, printed on card with a 3.2cm diameter)
stapler
super glue (goopy glue)
and brooch backs if you're wanting to make them wearable!

Start off by folding your paper back and fourth to create an accordion shape. Do this so each fold is about 1 cm wide...

When you've done the whole piece of paper it should look like this.

Fold it in half and pop a staple right in the center. It sound's crazy, but it'll hold it altogether .

Using your pritt stick, glue the inside flap and stick the sides together...

This will open up your rosette into a lovely circle and will hold it all in place.

Pick out your favorite print out and add a glob of super glue to the back. Position it right in the middle of your rosette and let it dry.

If you're adding a brooch back, simply add another glob of super glue on and position it above the center of the rosette so it sits nicely when you put it on. You can use any kind of fastening so long as you have it above the middle :)

Once you're done, let it dry fully aaaand...

*Ta*Da*
You've got the cutest ever paper rosette medals for your favorite people! Perfect, right? These are really quick and easy to make and they can be created for any reason or occasion, making them my favorite go to project for when I've got something (or someone!) worth celebrating!

What would you put on your medal?

Happy Making!
