DIY: How To Make A Leatherette Bow Cuff

on Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Today we are making leatherette bow cuffs!

Look at that. Easypeasy!

All you need to make this charming accessory is some leather (or leatherette) material, scissors, a needle and thread and a set of snappers. If you don't have the kind shown here, you can always use the sew on ones or if you are nifty with a button hole, you could replace with a little vintage button. Lovely!

Simply cut out a long oval shape and a little rectangle out of your material. Make sure that it's a little longer than the diameter of your wrist and fat enough to pinch and create the cute bow folds in the middle. As it puckers up, the length of the material will shorten see.

Next, attach your snappers at each end of the cuff.

Then, pinch the center of the fabric together and wrap the rectangular fabric around it.
Sew the rectangle closed at the back of the cuff so it is hidden (and you can make a mess!)

*Ta*Da*
Now you are ready to go out on the town and show 'em how it's done!
This bow cuff looks even more rockin' when you mix and match the colours too. Bring on the gold!

What a cracking way to celebrate our latest shop feature :)
Today we have been lucky enough to be featured on Nicola Barker's Handmade blog as this weeks Crafty Notherners. Hooray! Be sure to pop over to Nicola's blog and check it out!

Happy crafting everyone...
