Vivienne Westwood has to be our favourite designer.
Corsets, bustles, tartan and tweed; Vivienne has created quite the statement over the years.
She invented the punk rock look (she dressed the Sex Pistols after all!) and has made bending the fashion rules a whole lot more fun. She even got made a Dame for her work!
Her latest collection for Fall-Winter 2012 featured items heavily influenced by the 17th Century and spanned four centuries of English inspired dressing...
Speaking of her designs, Vivienne noted that fashion 'builds on the styles of the past in order to move forward.' Such wise words apply to most things these days. You don't need to come up with something new to create something great. It's all about inspiration and how you make it your own...
I mean, how many catwalk shows have you seen with feathers AND a bicycle? Exactly.
Vivienne's motto is 'buy less, choose well and make it last'... and I think it is going to be our new motto too! We are looking forward to experimenting with our inspiration more and updating our outfits the old fashioned way. Who want's to be a wall flower anyhow?
